Anderson Emergency Center
Rhode Island Hospital

A busy full service urban academic ED and the only Level I Trauma and Burn Center in Rhode Island, the Anderson Emergency Center has a volume of well over 100,000 patients per year. This facility features seventy-two urgent rooms, twelve critical care bays, two dedicated CT scanners, an MRI scanner, and an emergency cardiac catheterization lab. There is a 24/7 radiology reading room located in ED. We have a dedicated Emergency Department pod for psychiatric emergencies with an in-house psychiatric team, so these patients can get timely care and do not wait in our main ED. The Emergency Department also has a Clinical Decision Unit for prolonged or overnight observation of patients.
